very smooth, but the flourish killed the effect. Sadly.

Why You think that flourish killed the effect? thats the whole idea. Great video and very nice performance :)

Triumph is an effect that the cards fixed it self and left one card reverse, the selected card. Ending the trick with Sybil is not a bad idea because you just simply destroy the idea that Dai Vernon created years ago, and its a good, magical, idea too.

I completely disagree with your post. Why? There are different categories of performances in the arcane arts. "Magic" isn't the ONLY style of performing. You have skill based, magic based, psychological trickery, seance, psycho-kinetic. How you perform is derived from your character. Please do not preach to people that this is a bad piece because the "sybil flourish" diminished the "magic" associated with triumph. And for the record, Dai did NOT create the idea of mixing the cards face up and face down in conjunction with the Triumph Shuffle. This is a Sid Lorraine idea. Who is to say that "Triumph" as widely known as the concept of shuffling face up/face down and then separating is supposed to be "magical"? Again, please refer to sentence 5 where I describe the various genres of entertaining with the conjuring arts.

I agree, but I think for different reasons. I like this effect when performed by Dan, but the Sybil was too slow in my opinion and when you do it slowly, you quickly notice the cards are already separated. The flourish should add to the chaos before the dust settles revealing a (near) perfect deck.

I did not like the triumph, but the card handling was amazing and beautiful to watch

two things. In my opinion if you gonna throw the flourish in there it should be faster, look like your flipping and turning a lot more so its possible in the spec's mind that you really did what you said. Your's was smooth, but slow and you could literally see you were just flipping packets. Second when your riffling the cards to show face up and face down mixed dont riffle the last couple, it flashes for a second whats on top. Other than that, nice performance

I thought this was a D&D idea. I've seen them perform this before, I think on their lecture DVD.

I'm sorry to say, but the control was horrid.

that particular control is kinda terrible for video, but in real life, fly's under the radar 90% of the time

This particular triumph would be a lot better if when you do your sybil and you see both face up and face down. It looks more like you are unshuffling the deck. Right now it's pretty obvious that all the cards are face up already.
