Wayne Houchin - Thread - Excerpt

This project was awesome. Loved every second of the video. Can't wait to perform this. You put your heart and soul into this DVD and I have to say it was worth every penny and then some. -Doug

i personally dont like the effect. it seems kindly creepy. It would freek people out more than it would amaze them. P.S. Wayne, dont take any offence in this. I just don't think pulling a thread from your eye is very amazing

who says you always have to only amaze. getting freaked out is entertaining to. this is something that will leave people talking about you. you could do so many card tricks at a party or something but i guarantee if that person(spectator) ever had to explain to someone about the magic you performed for them those would be one of the first things they say and something they rememebr for the rest of their life. something like a sandwitch trick or a reset routine would be totally forgoten in light of this. so mr magicshadow9 i suggest you think more before you speak.

It's about style. I would love to see someone perform thread. However I don't think I'd do it myself. While I think it's cool and amazing I can't see myself doing it, at least not at this stage with how I perform now. And you can't ever just label something as being better than something else. A powerful sandwhich routine, or even a simple one - well performed - could be better. BUT also likewise the other way round. I'm sure that Blaine gets better reactions from a DL then a lot of us do from a crazy trick. ANything can be powerful it's about performance. Anyway congratulations Wayne, looks quality. i never said this was better than a sandwich routine im just saying we all recognize how laymen interpret things. they're not always looking for how hard the trick was but the overall effect of the trick. sure a sandwich trick can be great i never said its not but what do you think a laymen person would prefer a card trapped between 2 other cards out a thread pulled out of your eye? i still have respect for sandwich's and transpo's though dont get me wrong i perform them at gigs all the time. i was just trying to show mr magicman how pulling a thread from an eye is amazing.

Hey guys no SINGLE trick will be amazing to everyone, thats life. People will look at this and not be amazed just as people will look at this and be dumbfounded. I dont think its amazing or creepy. Its only a tool for you to use to make it amazing or if you want creepy, there is nothing wrong with creepy either. There are many magicians that make a decent living off of "Creepy" effects. I have enjoyed this effect for the longest, I'd say if it fits your style buy it if not buy it and see if you an mold it into your style. Its worth the knowledge.

Wayne is a fantastic performer but this really isn't for me. I hope others use it and get reactions with it.

even though i'm a magician i still clnch while watching this effect...that is what true magic performed right should feel like. Good Job Wayne
