Part of several videos captured in uncut form during the Dangerous production - discussing d+M's background, outlook on magic, and thoughts on performance.
Great video. Very insightful, and very interesting to hear your thoughts on presentation. I agree that it sometimes hurts (rather than helps) the magic by going overboard with the patter to the detriment of sincerity.
Good talk. :) I completely agree. When I first started out, I told dumb stories as well. I didn't make my own patter. Sometimes I still don't because I like the artist's patter best and I cannot top it. However, I don't script magic. I generally know what I am going to say, but sometimes I can change it radically into something completely different. You touched on some of the problems in magic today. :) Great job.

Inspiring.
I think that we all need to follow his ways and make tricks our own.
Word for word will not cut it.
I think the reason why magicians use other magicians patter is because they don't think, "Hey that's a good trick, how can I incorporate that into what I was already talking about for this other trick."
Thanks for the video Daniel.
That could have just caused a Renaissance(rebirth) in magic to all of us.
I like your argument and I think you've got the philosophical understanding of magic understood really well for yourself. Very inspiring words too, I hope there are more of these, the open text said 001, so maybe there will be a 002 ;)
You really opened my eyes when you said that there has to be a level of some truth to the magic you perform...it can't be something magical or totally unbelievable...I think this video actually changed the way I'm going to perform my magic for people...thanks bro.
