They're non air-cushioned Aladdin 1001 Playing Cards. Easily available in Singapore, but hard as shi t to find anywhere else. -Kev, The Virts

wow the quality is amazing. May I ask what kind of camera you were using?..also awesome style in there. overall setting, cards, music, all fit perfectly. Thanks Kev.

Kev H

Thanks, Tam. My own camera is busted at the moment, so I'm using my friend's Sony HDR-HC1. It's the same one I used to use when I was in high school, so good memories there... haha. -Kev, The Virts

Thanks Kev. I saw this on your Youtube account and loved it. Great work. David

How the hell did you film that? Did you attach the camera to your head or something?

Kev H

The camera's mounted on a tripod that extends about 2 feet above the ground. Basically, I'm sitting on a parking bump behind the camera, and I just reach around the tripod to film my hands. But I have to admit, the head idea sounds pretty neat. I'll try that next time. -Kev, The Virts

Cool. With the head thing, I'm sure some duct tape and rubber cement would do the trick.

thx a lot Kev. i will definitely use this combo. btw may i ask u wut kind of format u rendered the video as in vegas.

Kev H

I rendered the file into a 3mbps Quicktime .mov. Youtube battered the quality out of it, but it seems to work pretty well here. Thank god. -Kev, The Virts

How much does the camera cost?

Kev H

Not sure - it's my friend's. You could probably Google 'Sony HDR-HCI' to find more information on it - I'm sure it's costly, but from my experience with using it it's totally worth it. -Kev, The Virts

Very nice Kev, thanks for posting this. I've been practicing it for the past hour, flows very well. Great camera angle as well, and an even better name for the flourish ;). -RA69

I liked it, the teaching was good 'n' stuff, but I just find this move really contra-intuitive to do. I might be working on this later, but I don't think I'll use it :-)

sourboarder

no offense to the created.... but i think I would have liked to see the lateral spin at the end like in the corkscrew something or other, he did before. but nice work, i like it.

Much agreed.

None taken. This move isn't supposed to be dictated as a 'you have to do it this way exactly' sort of thing - it's a suggestion for the viewer to use and modify if they see fit. So in your case, if you feel as if the alternative ending with a Corkscrew Closer-esque twist would work better for you, by all means go for it - this is just how I prefer to do it. 'Diff'rent strokes for diff'rent folks.' That applies for EVERY cut folks! I see a lot of performances that are exactly as they are taught. Put your own flavour into it and you'll enjoy it more and so will your audience... Cheers, Shanku
