Awesome. Love the moves and the "WHITE ROOM" *lightning in the background*. 2 things: 1) What was that move at 0:30? 2) Name of the song :D

Alright thanks. So I'm guessing WOTB can't be learned without the DVD?

Allan Hagen

1) WOTB, or Wings of The Butterfly - one of Chris' own cuts, which was published in a DVD about a year and a half ago, and is unobtainable right now. Not saying he won't publish it again, though. Just wait and see. 2) It was compiled and put together by a friend of mine - who makes electronica music on his Mac. It doesn't really have a name - so no use trying to dig it up, as it's not released or anything.

Correct, I wouldn't attempt learning off any videos or anything - because it's disrespectful and you have a very small chance of actually doing it correctly.. as for me personally - well, I know Chris, so that's certainly an advantage when it comes to learning stuff. oh well, just wait and see, or try to obtain a copy of his DVD, there are a few out there, and there's probably someone willing to part with theirs. The DVD/Lecture notes bundle is called Ownage Explained.

definitely needs better quality

AdrianFF

"better quality"?!! you must be joking, I think it was shot in HD.

Eddie

Actually zeanator is right... I'm seeing too much pixels in the video. The one in YouTube even has a better quality...

Ghost of Spades

Err.. this IS the youtube video. The Theory11 player made it pixel-y, I believe.

Eddie

No... if this was the same video on YouTube, we should be able to click on the video and direct us to YouTube. This was uploaded through T11. Not YouTube.

Allan Hagen

It was indeed shot and edited in HD, although exported as a 640x360 .mov file encoded with Sorenson 3. The T11 media converter has a grudge against my .mov files, and they turn out really bad after encoding to the flash format. This is the reason I preferred Decknique's media system over T11, as Decknique did not convert the videos, just embed them. I'll provide for a HD download as soon as I can.

Where can you download it? 5 stars!

Allan Hagen

Sorry, nowhere at the moment - but as soon as I get my site back up and running, it'll be available as a HD .mov file from there. edit: actually, I just uploaded it to my Vimeo profile. It can be seen in better quality there, and it also allows you to download the original .mov file. www.vimeo.com/698167 (copy and paste link to browser) The vimeo version should also replace the T11 version soon, hopefully. Allan.

Wow man, I've been trying to pirouette a double for quite some time... swear you didn't use any spit? if not, how many takes did you all do? cause that's unbelievable if you're able to do it with any sort of regularity. I think I've successfully done it maybe three times out of the few hundred attempts, the top card always comes out of square... that's just amazing chris, I'm more than impressed

Allan Hagen

I think we got it on the second take. No spit, just clever technique. Often helps to bend the cards slightly while turning them over, should make them stay squared for a brief moment, enough to do the whirl flourish. Chris can do it with very high regularity. Personally I wouldn't rely on it in a performance, but it's fine for knocking off magician's socks.

Good video. I love the professional look! Small correction though: Daryl isn't called "Martinez" anymore, he took back his old family name "Easton". -Erik
