It was good in a technical sense, but if your going to perform a trick as devistating as the invisible deck, in my opinion, you have to really grab your audience in. I like your idea of patter, but i think you should drag it out a little bit longer. Don't just say "Oh that was your card? Oh thats weird."

i think that i probably have to agree with creeper here. the invisible deck is a monster trick, and you really need to get your audience thinking and focusing on their card. i would definitely recommend drawing out your patter as well. it is too short to get an effective reaction. i also would recommend showing the deck as all cards face down before you put it in their hand, as this will give the illusion that you could not have possibly turned the card over before hand> this is espescialy evident when the spectator chooses a card like the ace of spades, a card that could be easily turned over before the deck is used

good luck!

I like your performance, you keep still after your performance, you storyline with the equation is interesting and it keeps them involved. Only bad thing I think is how you handle the deck you can spread the cards out much faster and bigger. I don't mean very fast as it has to keep it kind of mystery without immediately showing one card is face down, BUT you spread out the cards only a little bit and a bit careful I don't know, maybe spectators think it's logical but I wouldn't suggest it doing that way. I like this storytelling as I also used the invisble deck alot. Not anymore as its more of a selfworking trick and I'm now more on tricks that depent on sleight of hand, but nonetheless 5 of 5. Great pleasure to watch.

Very good Mitchell. You are very good at performing this effect :) If I had one recommendation for you... it would be this.... watch your habit of saying "ok" a lot :) It makes you seem a bit nervous. Other than that, I thought you were perfect. I should start working on my own invisible deck considering I own one :) 4 stars

I disagree with some of the posts.

For a street performance, saying "ok" really draws the person in. It keeps them focused on what your saying. Often times it can be a psychological misdirection.

Also, I love the earthquake patter, but I do agree that you may want to increase the length Just a little. Not by too much, or it gets boring unless you think of something interesting to say. But maybe about 20-30 seconds longer.
Also, I think this is a good second trick but not an opening one. From the footage it seems like it was the first trick you did to them then they went about their business.
I think you should use this after a first trick with a normal deck and do a deck switch ,.not too hard..
The first one should be pretty good, but maybe link the two together so that the earthquake patter works with your first trick.
then it will blow their minds even more

Second...the earthquake patter kind of takes away from the spectators emotional connection with the card if you know what i mean. Its great trying to be original so long as you arent taking away from the trick.

I would also reccomend telling them to think of a card not the Ace of Spades or queen of hearts because then they really have to think.

Technically its fine but the invisible deck offers so much more potential.

Magic is about presentation. You have to learn to be comfortable around everyone. You know slieghts and tricks and secrets that they do not. if you approach with confidence and speak slowly they will pay attention. you dont need to say OK every three seconds to keep their attention. Yes you got reactions Mitchell but they could have been much stronger if you had been more confident.
I think what magicians fear is the possibility that someone will discover the secret, but we have to get over that fear and approach them with the attitude that there is no way they can figure it out. The invisible deck is perfect for that. It requires very little effort on the magicians part and in the spectators mind the magic practically happens in their hands.
It was good but it could be better.

I say good creative storyline...however it doesn't seem to work for YOU. Find another way to present the effect. Let's say you present the deck and have them hold it in the same manner before but this time have them select a card and turn their hands over. Gives a reason for the card to turn over. Not so many words have to be used.

"HOLD THIS DECK AND THINK OF A CARD"..."NOW TURN YOUR HANDS OVER" "WHAT WAS YOUR CARD?"....I know its kinds DBesq but simple works.

This is a one trick deck for you, milk it for what it is. Simple hits hard. No need for big stories here.

It was ok. It seemed to me like you rushed through it too much, though. Like you had to be somewhere, and you couldn't give your performance the full attention it deserves. Try to slow it down a bit. Your spread of the cards was also a little to "tight". Make it look more loose, so it looks like a normal deck. The only other thing I didn't like was how you said, "ok, this is what I want you to do," about every five seconds. Work on that and saying "ok", and you'll be golden.

I used to have the same problem, except I would say "all right" all the time. To fix this, I highly recommend wearing a rubber band for two to three weeks, and snapping your self as hard as you can everytime you do the thing that you're trying not to do. This will put a very quick stop to your bad habits. I now almost NEVER say all right. Hope it works out for you!

Overall, though, I liked your performances. Good job!
